Oil Leak

Just doing a once over check of the bike before Daytona and noticed a very slight oil leak from the rocker box cover on the rear cylinder on the left side back corner of that cylinder. I changed the oil just the other day and this is the second change with Royal Purple and the 4th change over all. Is this something I should have the shop look at or just keep an eye on. Also, does anyone have an idea on how to get in to tighten that left far rear rocker box bolt. Its too close to the frame to get a typical allen wrench in the bolt.

You know I have occasionaly had the same small leak in the same location on mine. Never figured out why and for the most part it is very small, almost like a sheen from vapor or something. Normally I just wipe it off and do not see it again until I either changed the oil, ran the shit out of it or something along those lines.

Never could figure it out and even had the dealer tighten the cover with new o-rings. It is so small and never enough to even drip that it is almost like it may be coming from a vent and just accumulating there.

It has been so minut that it is almost like the dog has a runny nose and like I said, once I wipe it off, very seldom do I see it again for a very long time. Mine is on a 2005 Mastiff with the TP Box covers on it BTW.

Mine was enough to for a drip on the cooling fin but not actually drip off to the next fin.

can't you cut / grind an allen key down so that it will get in there?

I can, I just didn't know if there was a trick to using a normal(uncut) one.

I've had the same misting that Fiber describes. Not worth wrenching it away to me....

Are you using synthetic? I have heard if you engine is going to leak oil, you will find out when you run synthetic... Maybe the guys that use it will have a comment - I am planning switching this spring (if it ever comes, we are looking at a record Feb. So far over six feet for the season).
