Overflow from Gearbox?

A couple of times after it’s set for a time, I start her up and run for a few minutes and it seems to gurgle up some gear lube. Didn’t do it all last summer, but after it’s sat all winters.

It’s only done this a couple times. Any obvious root causes? Anyone seen this before?

I don't have that primary but they can leak front , rear and center. Check and clean the vent. It's that time of year to change your fluid so maybe replace your gaskets and pay attention not to overfill the primary. On the right side drive primaries the recommendation is less than factory recommendation due to starter contamination. Someone else on this site or HDM would know what is best for your bike.

That’s definitely a LSD primary. 32oz ATF or similar non synthetic chain lube. Where exactly are you seeing it spit the fluid out? Can’t really make anything out from that picture.

Definitely gear lube. Another observation: only occurs when motor is started but not driven. In other words, motor started, heated up, but rest of drive train kept cold and unused.

If I started the motor and drive it, there is no leakage.
