Installing S&S dual runner bracket to XXX TAZ carb. The twin thunderjets on carb prevent bracket mounting due to the secondary breather passage tube and brass barb fitting tube for carb venting (see photo).

I am going to run the breather tube to the ground, therefore, I can remove the secondary breather passage tube and plug it.

Questions:
1. What can I do with this brass barb fitting tube? The installation instructions says it is for carb venting. Can I remove (or cut) it or do I need to run a hose from it (like the instructions indicate)? I did a search and couldn't find anything that I found to help me.
2. If the brass fitting is removed, do I cap it or leave it open. I am thinking to leave it open.
3. How are those tubes attached to the bracket? Can I pull, tap, or turn them out? Do I have to cut them down? They are rock solid in that bracket. I don't want to damage/scratch the bracket trying to remove the tubes.

Thanks in advance!

I had the same situation so, I took a pair of vise grips turned them till they came out and shit canned them. I took the two plugs that came with the kit and shoved them in the holes. I did have to cut some off so that they would not stick out. Worked for me :2thumbs:

Yeah...I ended up cutting them down and plugged them with the rubber boots that came with the kit. Bike runs great.

Thanks Carlos!
