Fixing to get a new tire put on the rear and so i took it off the bike to take and have it mounted. do i need to take the brake rotor and drive pulley off for them to do this?

nope, as long as they have a machine for the big tire, they can do it with everything attached, I went to stubbs in houston and no problem.

The last time I took mine in for the new tire, I called the shop and asked the tire guy if he wanted my pulley and rotor removed and he said it was fine left on.

After the install and I was at home getting ready to install back on the bike, I noticed the pulley had 3 big gouges in it from where the asshole slid it across the tire machine.

REMOVE THEM... I wouldn't take a chance, one more thing for an idiot to f*ck up!!!

You should be pulling off the hubs and having new bearings installed. Recommended every 10,000 depending on what model you have. At least check them out as you may need new ones.

I had a skin installed on the back, and they mounted it to the bike also. When I walked the bike, I found a pretty deep gouge on the outside of the pulley. I immediatley went in and spoke to Johnny (tech that did the work), and the owner (Dave Welsh) joined in. No arguments; no hassles; just very timely repair and professionalism. The price was even remarkable!
I have dealt with them many times since that day, and I highly recommend Chopper City in Orange Park, FL (just south of Jax about 20 miles).
