just put new ehc on 05 chopper...ran ok awhile,now shuts down after about 8 miles or so..pulled to side of road,looked under seat. All but 2led lites on. Turn key off & on..bike fires up ..quits again.. anyone ever have this happen? how to fix or where to look for answer...thanks..

Wes, when you say, "it ran ok for a while", how long is "a while"? Day, week, month? From what you're describing, I would have to think you have a ground short somewhere that is shutting down your EHC. On a possitive note, sounds like your led lights are working well.
Sorry about that, it's Friday. I can't help but ask, why didn't you go with a Wire Plus module? I'm about to send my EHC to another member for R&D, but if you find that you have fried your new EHC and don't want to go to a Wire Plus, maybe we can work something out.

My problem is I can't even leave the garage! Second hand that may not be a bad thing as I would rather be standed in the garage next to the refrig with cold beer! Sometimes I get the power light on the EHC and sometime not. When I do have power, bike fires right up and then dies in 15-20 seconds. I have a used EHC coming from one of our members. Hope that fixes it.

Did your EHC light up like this?
1. check and see if you have this resister in line with your ign switch...
This resister was a fix for 05's and is now built in to the EHC and in not needed... I have had no problem since removing it.
2. if no resister check the ignition switch . wiggle it and roll it twards the off detent. it shouldn't turn off till you are at the detent..

That was the problem..just went 25mi@75-85mph..No problem..thanks very much...
