Have a BD Mastiff "07" and need some input on a issue I have been experiencing. When attempting to shift into 2nd it goes into Neutral, wont let me upshift any further, and I have to down shift to 1st then back to 2nd. This doesnt occur everytime attempting to shift to 2nd, but is pretty frequent. I thought maybe clutch or linkage adjustment but wanted some opinions before tweeking anything. Any insight would be appreciated!

Check your fluid level in transmission? How is the clutch pull at the controls? Did it seem to change in need of force applied lately? Any unusal sound/s you can pickup on?:flag:

do not over-fill the trans. it only gets 20-24 oz. :2thumbs::2thumbs:

If the shift linkage has been recently adjusted or the shift linkage has vibrated the lock nuts loose it can in effect shorten the shifting rod to the point that the upward movement of the shift lever will not engage the shift-dog to put the tranny into the higher gears. Check to see if the shifting rod is too short be lengthening the rod and give that a try. Sometimes it is the easy fix that is over-looked.
Also a intro would be nice! Good luck.

Yea, like Bowhunter said, index the shifter be sure you have enough movement to engauge the gears. And like also said above check you heim joints, they could be binding.

Oh, and if you don't do an intro, I'll take back what I just said.
