If you have a custom shifter linkage rod, post up a picture.

Also if anyone has a link for some custom rods that will fit the Dog can you post them.

Thanks

Thanks Dave....did you have to send them your stock one so they could get the measurements correct?
No...I measured my linkage from center heim to center heim...then I took the measurement of just the linkage itself...there is a thread on it here..
On my stock linkage...I had 1 right handed thread and 1 left handed thread....Wicked Image is both right handed threads...were the heim screws into the linkage...the Harley ones have a post mounted to one end which is different. I just took my stock linky, put my new Wicked Image linky next to it, took my 2 new stainless heims that I got from McMaster Carr....turned in my heims so I was at the same length and had to use a 1/2 chrome spacer at the tranny end so it wouldn't hit the jugs...I have had this linkage for over 3 years now..shifts great and smooth :2thumbs:

Holy Christ Dave! :eek:
Next time warn me and i'll put my shades on!!!!:roll:
Don!! :roll::roll::D

Dave..one more question. Here is the rod from Wicked. It doesn't look like there is a place on each end of the rod to screw the heim in. Help me out here please.

What I did was called them(Aarron) and told them that I needed the linkage were the heims screwed into the ends and gave them my length of my shifter rod...its been over 3 years since I talked to them...so I don't know if that same dude is still there...my linkage had to be custom made because it is longer than the stock lengths that they make...

here is a thread.......http://www.bigdogbiker.com/forums/customizing-add-ons/27078-shift-linkage.html

have another question... The rod that is on the bike now measures 16 3/8 (rod only). I found a rod I like and it measures 16 1/8. Being that the new rod will be 1/4 inch shorter will that be a problem? The overall length of the rod on the bike is currently 18 1/2 from center heim to center heim

It’s all above the picture, phone, price, link – shipping was fast :cheers:
Sure is...I was just looking at the picture. Kind of like when I was a kid just looking at the pictures in Playboy.:D

You don't have the extended forward controls, is that correct?

Sorry for asking so many questions,,,when I bought the K-9 it fit me perfectly when it came to the forward controls (pegs & shifter/brake peg). I know it has to be extended but I don't know how much. How do you measure to determine the extended length of the forward controls?

Every Inch counts or at least that's what she said.:lol: I don't think that a 1/4 inch will make any differnce as you will have to adjust ends (hem joints) to your shifting satisfaction. Some have big feet others have fat boots, other use tennie shoes some do it bear foot. You get the drift :D

coachk I have the same shift linkage as chopper dave and I agree for the price it is a great bang for your buck. No problems, shifts smooth and the length is adjustable.
