Shifting problems

I have a 2007 mastiff. Left the house and everything running perfect. Got about 7 miles and I couldn't get the bike to downshift or upshift. Finally I moved shift pedal a little up and down and it would shift. Anyone have any ideas. Asked Baker transmission and they said it could be shifting forks worn.

Try lubing the heim joints. They can get dry dirty and sticky.

Its also possible the bolt holding the external trans shift lever is loose?

Could be a multitude of things.

Now way to know unless you tear into it.

Id start by disconnecting the shift rod to see if the issue is internal or external.

Check the shift lever at the transmission first, if the bolt comes out or loose enough it can slip on the splines.

Check the heim joints and make sure they move EASILY. Lube them. If there is any roughness or stiffness consider replacing them.
How many miles on the bike?
