No you don't need to get the EHC reflashed when installing a new battery. If it has not had the reflash done yet, it might be a good idea to do so anyhow. But this is not the cause of your problem. WHen you hit the start button does the starter click? What about the comp releases? They make noise? If not, it could be right there at that start button. Do the buttons feel like they squishy or do they click a little when you push them in? You might need all new PCBs

Not sure if you have gotten it fixed yet but if you havent it sure sounds like the EHC to me. I have a 06 K-9 also and have just had the New EHC installed. If you have this done make sure they install a insulated horn wire cuz if not when you hit the horn it will kill the motor. Good Luck hope this helps!!!

Check for crimped tight wire crimps and good battery connections at +/- terminals.

Could it be a bad/cracked RH bar circuit board, collapsed or stuck button dome or connection?

If you've checked everything from your other post and still have not found the problem here is a troubleshooting flow chart....Pages 2&3 will help checking the starting button and power to starter solenoid. use an ohm meter to check continuity.

Here's a wiring diagram to help out.
