Speedo pegged, power out

06 bdm Chopper w/ upgraded EHC. Riding along and suddenly speedo jumps to 120mph+ and all power shuts off. No lights, nothing. Turn key off and back on, everything fine for awile. Might work all day, might work one mile. Checked all battery connections (I am a Master Electrician by trade) and everything looks good. Tried wiggling key when turned on and cant dupilcate problem. I would consider wiring from key switch but if thats the problem, why does speedo max out? Of course the EHC could be bad but dont want to replace it and have same/ similar problem. Big ride in 2 weeks and need your help solving this one.

Mine did the same thing...speedo pegged out no power,but would not reset and come back on...EHC fried... so jake hooked me up with a wire-plus and no problems out of it and the battery doesnt get drained down now like the ehc used to do it.

Thats what I was afraid of. You installed a wire plus, has anyone but the new bdm ehc in?

When my tach was going nuts the speedo pegged out as well.
