Ok so i need a starter, thought i had it figured out which one i was going with, found a 1.8 at one of the common venders, then they suggested a 2.0 because it was shorter and would fit better. Everything i see suggests a 2.0 is going to be longer. But not seeing much for measurements anywhere really. I ended up on ultimas website(which is where the venders 2.0 comes from) and it looks like everything is based on being longer then stock by 3/4” or more, stock im only assuming is 6 1/4” by what i found. The one i removed is 7 7/8” but it interfered with the speed sensor so i want a shorter one. On ultimas site im looking at either getting the 1.4 or the 1.75 then. But looking for some understanding before i do.

Yes you definitely have the wrong starter at present. I am thinking the 1.75 would be best. And yes the shorter starter is just at 6 1/2” in length. The 2.0 is a hi torque starter. I believe the 1.75 would be fine and in the length you need. This is my spare I picked up from a friend. IMG_9074.jpegIMG_9071.jpeg

If I were going to replace my starter, I would go with 2KW. I don’t believe my starter is a 2KW and I have compression releases that work but these engines need a better starter than original and mine is a 2008. It works but for me, a good high torque starter, solenoid in good condition plus a great battery makes for a wonderful piece of mind.
