I HAVE AN 08 BIG DOG AND WAS GOING HOME ONED DAY AND IT JUST DIED COMPLETELY, I NOTICED THAT THE NEGATIVE BOLTED TO THE STARTER WAS WAY LOOSE SO I TIGHTENED IT AND TRIED TO JUMP START IT WITH JUMPER CABLES AND EVERYTIME I TRIED IT WOULD AUTOMATICALLY TRY TO START, I THEN TRAILERED IT HOME PULLED THE GREEN WIRE OF STARTER AND IR HAS A CONSTANT 12V EVEN WHEN KEY IS OFF THUS TRYING TO CONTANTLY START!!?? I HIT THE RUN BUTTON AND I CAN HEAR IGNITION RELAY CLICKING ON AND OFF TO THE SPARK PLUG WIRES SO I DONT THINK ITS MY SWITCH??? ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT

First of all never jump start your Dog or is will fry the EHC module.$400.00 and on back order for 6 months.I need a bit more info to help.SO it will not crank at all? or cranks but no engine start.First things first.Take battery to auto shop or good auto parts store and have battery tested with a good tester like a midtronics batt tester. These dogs will do funny things if battery is just slightly weak.Sounds like you have checked your terminals and ground at starter. If that checks out then take starter to a starter and alternator rebuild shop and have them test it.They usually can rebuild that starter at a reasonable cost.big dog gets $400,00 for reman starter.last if all checks out, possible wire problem or EHC,They can do weird stuff.but check everything else first the propper way so you can isolate the problem.Let me know and I and many others on here would be glad to help.I own 2 k-9's and have done quite a bit of wrenching on them.

STARTER

IT CRANKS OVER YES, I HAVE TO PULL THE GREEN WIRE OFF THE STARTER OR IT CONSTANTLY WANTS TO START EVEN WITH KEY OFF IT HAS 12V TO THE STARTER ON GREEN WIRE LIKE IM PUSHING START AND HOLDING IT BUT I KNOW THE START IS OK CAUSE I PUSH IT AND I CAN HEAR THE IGNITION RELAY CLICKING. I WOULD IMAGINE IT THE EHC IS SCREWED UP? WOULD A LOOSE GROUND TO THE STARTER CAUSE IT TO MESS UP EHC?
