Should have prefaced better. I have an 04 Bulldog and I'm trying to get my starter off. I took off the right side primary cover, loosened the jack nut and got the starter off but I cannot get it out, because the right side drive belt is in the way preventing me from getting it out. Do i have to remove the belt? If so, how do I do this? How do i loosen tension on teh belt itself? do i need to take off my exhaust pipes? Any help greatly appreciated!!!

On my 07 I took the pulley cover off and slid the belt off the pulley.

Take the rear axle covers off, loosen up the axle nut. Now go to the area where the axle adjuster is located (in front of axle one on each side) remove the the allen plug, than further in there is an axle adjuster. Loosen that up and count the number of turns so that you can put it back to where it was. Sorry I can't explain as well as I'd like to nor do I have a picture of that area. However, here is a how to remove the rear tire. You don't have to remove it just loosen it a bit to get the belt off.
