2004 Chopper - Tach would not lite at all, replaced tach ring and now registers idle rpm at 1000 ok, just increase slight throttle and tach registers redline to max. replaced thunderheart ignition with dyna 2KI programmable ignition module. Bike runs great. any ideas

Is that an H-D ignition? Saw the "dyna" reference...anyways, I'm adding an autometer tach to my 03 chopper and saw in the instructions that HD pulses per revolution were 1/2 vs. the 2 pulses per revolution the stock ignition produces...no way near being an expert, just thinkin out loud here...

Yes. It is sold as (and I'm quoting here) "Dyna 2000i-P Reprogrammable Digital Ignition System for Harley-Davidson Motorcycles. The DYNA 2000i Digital Ignition is designed to replace the factory ignition module and sensor used on 1983 and later Harley-Davidson EVO motors.
I do remember reading on another thread what you said about twice as many pulses being sent from the module but I'm not sure how they resolved it. I've read so many postings on here they run together after awhile. Hoping someone can remember what was covered. I'm sure this has been noticed by someone before now.
