TECH Help

Okay just picked the bike up from a real shit hole of a repair shop. Not sure how to start. I initially took the bike in for a fork seal job and to make a long story short. I get the bike back and it will not crank "bought a new battery and it wont fire. the starter is clicking and it starts to turn over but nothing else. the Stupid MF@#$% also made the left turning signal go out. this leads me to think he there is a short. how can I find out if the the wire in the left turning signal is also causing the bike not to fire?

Sorry to hear Paul. If you have issues with your turn signals then your EHC will show a fault lit on it. The is a schematic of the lights in the tech section somewhere showing what each light means.

Make sure your new battery is fully charged also.

Ray, No fault indicator on my EHC. The left light is out I am going to get into the bike tonight to see what I can find. along with some tequila!! more to follow

paul as far as your turn signal, might just be a led, switch the leds side to side see if theres a change, just sayn:cheers:

mobsta 1 step ahead of ya this time. I switched led's and the led is burnt out. so now I am in a bind. I have eliminated a short due to the right side led working in the left turning signal. the starter is clicking and not turning over. I would like to pull the whole starter and take it to get tested. just holding and thinking of other ideas before I go that far.

youve had your solenoid apart before right?are you sure your battery is good and charged?

check this out. just changed back to my older battery almost there. I swapped the new battery out and put it on the charger. the old battery is turning it but it just sounds like it is popping alot of air or compression. I am also looking at the spark plugs they are dark. yes I had the solenoid apart cleaning the contacts.

Don't know what kind of battery you have ... but, even new, a shitty battery may not be able to turn the bike over. I made the mistake of buying a Wal-Mart battery, once, and from day one (after 8 hrs charging) it still struggled and didn't even last the whole season. Now with the Braille, I have NO problems!! Somethin' to think about.

check on the battery. I asked for a high performance from battery bills and they gave me a motocross platinum we will see after it sits on the charger. really hate to post all these and have it turn out to be the battery.

mobsta not sure what the cca's are but I got the bike to start with the old battery. I tilted it over on the right side and worked with it. it cranked I am thinking the new battery is going back. eliminated a starter problem I think.
