Below is from an old thread off old hotrodbiker forum

This is the same conditions and noise I hear. Looks like I need to either lube the rod or get a new one. If I lube the clutch rod what type of lube and what color is it.

I have an 2005 Bigdog chopper and ever since the dealer put a new clutch basket and plates in my bike, I have a slight annoying squeal under pressure, if I let off the gas it goes away, if I pull in the clutch, it goes away, I called my dealership and they said to take 2 thousands off of the clutch rod, if it continues, they will give me a new one, that is slimmer.

Man these old threads a worth the weight in gold.

I used a Hi-Temp A/P (all purpose) grease that was red in color at first and then I started using Amsoil Series 2000 Synthetic Racing Grease and never had to lube my clutch rod again, this grease is white in color and the part number is:
GRGCR and it comes in a 14oz cartridge that goes in any standard grease gun.

I have an 05 chopper also and mine would squeak only when I pulled in the clutch. Greased it with some bearing grease, no more problem.

Just a thought for all of you. When you install the clutch rod the seal on the shaft wipes most of the grease off the shaft so I squirt extra grease inside the shaft seal with a grease gun just for added insurance.
