throttle cables

I have a 2008 Mutt. On the right handlebar controls are the throttle cables. The cables seem to be really loose and flop around a lot. On the bottom side of the control module is where the cables enter to the twist grip. Can someone look at the bottom of the right hand control on their bike and see if there is a small clamp on the underside that holds the cables where it enters the hand controls. It looks like there is a screw hole on mine that may have held a clamp. I looked in my manual and wasn't able to determine if there should be a clamp or not. Thanks

nope thay are somewhat lose..... if the cable adjustment is needed then that is all you can do,, the hole your refering to has nothing to do with them.. that a throttle stop thread the bdm quit using... thats why the hole is still there.. if you need a throttle lock get the cruise mate set up thay work great...

Not sure exactly what you're lookin at, bro. But the throttle cables naturally have alot of play in them. I've got an 06 K9 and, after taking a look at it, I do have a set screw hole just to the left of where the throttle cables come out at the lever, but that's just to hold the cables in place. Don't panic. The cables are supposed to have play in them. That's normal. You twist the throttle (preferably ALL THE WAY DOWN!!!)and they move!

that set screw is not to hold the cables.it locks down the control housing to the handle bars, without it your controls will move on the bars.like everyone said the play is normal.
