Anyone ever had this? My tire is getting down to where I'm getting ready to change it (8300 miles) anyway, making hard right tur:eek:n at say 50mph ass end starts to hop. Looked down at speed and hole swing arm moving up and down. Checked my tire for scallop or uneven wear nothing unusual. Never had this before on any bike. Just started doing this. I will be checking it myself, just curious to see if anyone else has had this happen.

Never had this happen to me but I dont look down at my rear tire at 50 mph in a corner

How many miles on the bike? Have you had the rear apart recently and checked the bearings and checked the swingarm for side to side movement? Have you looked at the shocks and made sure one, or both aren't blown? Do you use weights or Dyna Beads? If your tire is so worn that you need to change it anyway then check all these things as you put new tires on and, if your running Avons, make sure you are running 42psi.

8300 miles on the bike, 7000 from me since September 09. Shocks swing arm bearings good. I was thinking maybe Dyna Beads stuck in one spot or bad belt in tire. Ill see when I changed my tire. Have been running Avons for 15 years always check air pressure. Had the bike pegged at 120 MPH no bounce, just right turn. As for looking down at 50 MPH, last year at 45 years old sill racing KX500 been riding since I was 6. Looking down at 50MPH no problem, just have to know what your doing and clear view of the road, same for going high speed.

Running Dyna Beads myself and I have, on occasion, had an issue with the rear tire bouncing in corners at speed. Never had that issue with weights. The bouncing is never severe but sometimes annoying. I figured it could just be a weird combination of road, tire and beads.

I had a KX500 that I raced in the desert. That bike had some serious top end. The Honda 500 had more brut power but the KX was a better bike for the desert. I miss those days.

Yeh, getting too old for that kind of power. Sore for two days after a ride. I stll have an old IT 490, might do some old man hare scrables. That'll still probably kick my ass. I still work out, but people don't realize how much effort it takes to hang on at full thradal. That's why the you retire in your early 20's in moto cross.

Just before I changed my tires to the new ones, I started getting a consistant hop or bouce running about 72-75 on the interstate. Dealer said when the tires get down to next to nothing, they can start doing that. After the new tires went on, it was smooth as a bell.

I difinitely think it's tire related. Have new bearings which I'll probably repalce when I instal my new tire. Every bike I've ever owned had it's own quirks, but dogs are in a bread all there own. Ran many Avon tires down to the thread and never had a bounce. I look at it as a challenge. I do all my own work. Hopefully won't have keep chasing gremlins. Also hope BD stays in business, don't want to have to machine any proprietary parts. That would get to be a pain in the ass.
