Tuning time, rpms

No tach on mine, what kind of rpms are these bikes running at say 30, 50, and 70mph in 5th gear? Its a 2000 bulldog with a 5 speed. Going to be doing some plug chops for jetting.

Anyone know roughly what speed the main jets start to take over?

Roughly, it's about 3k rpm. This can be altered by changing the air bleed. Bigger air bleed, the later the main jet will come in.

Since there is no tach where is 3000 at? What do these cruise at?

Generally, at cruising speeds, you are at 2500-3000 rpms.

I can't speak for every bike, but my light for 2500 rpm comes on at 70 mph in high gear.

Whats yours? And 5 or 6 speed? Mine is an 00 bulldog with a 5 spd.

Picked up a harley tach today, have to see if i can make it work with my single fire ignition then i can get tuning.

Well harley tach works great, 3000rpms is just over 70mph with a 5 speed.
