Using a battery charger...

My K-9 battery is a 12v 6amp. My battery charger has 2, 8, and 12amp setting. I let the battery charge using the 2 amp setting and let it charge for 6 hours. When I started the bike, the lights came on for a second and then it clicked twice when it tried to start and then died. Should I recharge the battery using the 8 amp setting ? Maybe the 2 amp charge was just too weak. Sorry to be such a noob here. I'm learning more every day but there is still a lot I dont know. Thanks.

How old is the battery? If it's so low it won't start the bike I'd pull it out and try charging it up at a higher amperage. Then take it down to your parts store and have it load tested. You want to always leave it on a tender at 2 amps. If the battery's shot buy a new one with 310cca cranking amps and then some. I think my Braile is doing 425cca. If you need one get your Braile from Mad Dogs guy at a discount.
