Yours is an earlier big dog. s&s built the motors have to call them for the build sheet.

In terms of the rest of the bike it's all Harley parts. Paint is nice but doesn't look like something from the Factory. Not sure if ED was painting back then?

Yeah the paint is what makes me think it was a customer request or limited edition maybe. Would really love to find out.. Seen other Pro Sport that didn't seem to have as many top notch pieces on it. Was told at the HD dealer it was a one owner one off limited. Would just like to know for sure.

The motors were built and assembled by S&S in the early years. If properly tuned it should yank your arms right out of their sockets at WFO. Tire should light up in the first three gears.

The dash is not origional. The panel has been changed and a digital speedometer. Indicator lights and that switch in the middle and side have been added. The pic I posted is a stock Big Dog speedometer and dash panel.

The stock air cleaner housing would have been an S&S tear drop one. The one you have is a Big Dog factory part they came out with a couple of years later. It has the newer style lettering on it.

The wheels are factory stock. The front forks I am not sure about. The windshield is an add on. The headlight looks to be stock. It came from the factory with the Performance Machine brakes on it.

The floor boards are an add on. The exhaust I am not sure about but I think it would have had a Supertrap Ker Ker two into one on it from the factory. The oil cooler is not factory. The saddle bag mount is added on also.

It's a nice old bike with lots of extras add to it. I doubt any of them were put on at the factory though. Maybe added at the dealership when the bike was purchased.

One thing I would recomend is to chech the condition of the liner inside of the gas tanks. The origional lining material was not designed to stand up to the ethanol used in the shit we call gasoline today. The liner will come loose and chunks will fall off and clog up you're fuel system. Been there.Done that.

Ride safe and enjoy.

Never can tell.. I know I was TOLD it was one owner and was a customer request as to what all is on it. I know you can't believe a salesman to far into what's said at times. Yet I get the feeling he wasn't lying.. Said he was going to talk to the original owner as he comes in a lot. Still need the windshield key. .. He also told me to give him a shout if in the area during the early evening to go riding.. He seems straight up to me... I have seen other BDM in these years with a lot of the same pieces so who knows really what BDM had around the shop in 1999

Even if it was per request...that doesn't make the bike some kind of limited edition or anything. Just a client bike. I wouldn't get worked up and it won't add any value anyways! Just ride it !

They ran a limited edition K9 and 250 of those were made. They are blacked out and they are also numbered with an airbrush on the gas tank. 1-250 so you know and the resale on those is not any different than a regular one. It's just a different paint scheme anyways.
