Wild Speed Works EHC

It's been recommended to me that when it becomes necessary to replace the EHC in my 07 K9 that I go with the product from Wild Steed Works instead of the BD RIP kit. According to the information I got the Wild Speed Works is a lot cheaper, more reliable, and much easier to install. The approx amount of labor involved with the Speed Works replacement is about an hour vs the approx 3 hours to install the RIP kit and that's if the technician is experienced installing the RIP kit. Of course, this could significantly reduce the overall cost of removing and replacing this unit. Here's the rub: (there always seems to be one) WildSteedWorks apparently will not warranty their EHC unless you also change out the Regulator and the Stator. This brings the total cost up to a comparable level with the installation of the BD RIP kit (depending to some extent on the final labor cost to install the BD unit) Finally the Wild Speed Works is available and the RIP unit is 4-6 weeks out for delivery. So it would seem to me that going with the Speed Works replacement would make the most sense if it's a quality product. That brings me to my question (s) for all my fellow owners in this group. Anyone out there go with the Speed Works product and what has been your experience? Did you also replace the Stator and the Regulator in order to capture the warranty? Thanks, everyone in advance for your comments and suggestions!

I know they highly recommend replacing the VR. If the VR craps out it could ruin the EHC. I did not know the stator was also recommended. Anyway plugging in a new EHC is far more easier than rewiring the bike. And Curtis at WSW is a good guy. Can't go wrong. He has helped me try to figure things out with my Mastiff over the phone.

I have the WSW EHC in my K9 for almost 2 years now with no issues at all. I did change out the charging system when I installed with the CompuStart unit just to be safe. I trust Curtis at WSW as he knows these bikes and he recommends changing the charging system so I went with his recommendation. Follow the knowledge if you want a trouble free bike.

I have a 05 Bigdog bulldog I have very weird problem when I turn key on to start I get nothing so I figure it out if I take only the black wire off the ground that goes to the module and put it back on with the key in the on opposition the bike will start and then only that wire will do that and then it runs fine would you know why it does that 07A910DA-54D8-4641-AA5F-3E3FCBD653C4.jpeg
