 Hi Guys,

I'm restoring an 04 mastiff and am in need of a new carb. The local Parts shop wants to charg me $700 for an 04 Carb (PN BDM100-00026), so I went online to see if I could find it cheaper and found that the BDM site has an 05 carb for $395 (pn103-000001-02). Does anyone know it the 05 Mastiff carburetor will fit an 04 Mastiff.

Thanks

Escobar,
All factory S&S "G" carbs are basically the same. The differences lie in the throttle cable guide, and the intake manifold width.
There are only 2 guides.....long and short. Most "G" carb kits come with both.
Intake manifold width is determined by the size of your motor.
You can call S&S tech, give them your motor serial #,and they will tell you what manifold you need.

Thanks john,
I've got a 107. and am missing the lower portion of the carb.
The BDM site doesn't specify what size the manifold is. so...

Big Dog Motorcycles KIT, SUPER G CARBURETOR & MANIFOLD

since I already have the manifold from the old carb, do you think I'd be alright ordering the 05 carb from the BDM site and if the manifod provided with the new card didn't fit, I could simply use the existing manifold to bolt up tp the new Carb?

Escobar,
All you need, and the only thing you need is JUST a carburator. No need to p*ss money away.Just get a carb and use your exsisting manifold !!!!!!!!!!!!

that's just it, the local parts shop was charging me $700 bucks for the carb and, I found the carb and manifold for an 05 for less than 400. just wasn't sure if the 05 was compatible to the 04. i think I'll go ahead and get the 05 from the BDM site unless you know of a place where I can get it cheaper.

Hey guys just wanted to follow up on this.

Thanks for the help.

by the picture I remember seeing, you will need a back plate. There's nothing holding the carb except the intake manifold. Not a good idea (IMO).
