I have a TP 107 also. This is how my lines come out of the tank.
Jim,

Thanks for the picture, that is really helpful. The two lines towards the front of the tank are reverse on mine in comparison with yours. I believed the front one closest to the engine on my tank was the vent. In the TP diagram they show the front connection as being the vent, I need to check and confirm that it is and protrudes the highest in the tank. There is one tube coming from what looks like that location and ends right along side the filler cap which would make sense that would be the overflow vent. Other wise if the return is swapped and being used as the vent any oil past that lower level would be exspelled out of the vent hose. My seat and butt get really hot, if it was returning at the vent line next to the cap, that could most likely be the reason. After finding the other end screwed up I wouldn't be surprised at all if this is reversed too.

Thanks again.

I have the red line in your pic going to the block where your orange line is. Swap out the two lines at the tank and you should be fine.
Jim,

When you mentioned this before, I did not focus in on it because it would not have changed how the filter was being fed and discharged. But it does make perfect sense that those two lines could possibly be switched too. I'll let you know what I find.

Thanks again!

Jim,

I couldn't stand it. I went out to the Garage and pulled my return line going to the oil tank, just new your picture was probably right, especially after no oil came out. And sure enough, I thread a piece of plastic line up through it and it came out the top of the vent tube right next to the filler cap. So they did have that backwards too. You talk about a shop screwing something up. I hope that is not an indication of what they might have done iside that engine. And I bet my butt is going to be a whole lot cooler. We'll see what happens to the overheat situation I was having.

That picture really helped, Thanks Jim! :2thumbs:

Final Update:

Finally got the new line and o rings and seals and everything checks out fine. I still had the overheating problem though. It would run great for about 15 miles or so then just die. If you let it sit fo 10 minutes it was good for another 10 minutes or so and do it all over again.

Just fire it up and hit it with a hair dryer or a heat gun. If it cuts out there you have it. They are fairly easy to change out as well.
Mike,

I did what you suggested and sure enough it started acting up. I called Daytona Twin Tech for some troubleshooting procedures and their only comment was take it to a certified tech . After some googling I found a PDF on line, with out their help, that gave instructions on how to test it, pretty simple test and it checked out bad. Well they lost a sale and I went with a Crane ignition module and coil to get the warranty and the bike now runs fantastic.

Thanks everyone for your help. :2thumbs:
