Ongoing electrical problems

Energy One
Big Dog K-9, 2018.
Less than 5,000 miles
I like the bike, but it is SO unreliable compared to my 2 Harleys.
Ride 1 weekend and 2 weeks in a garage getting fixed.
This time after the washing the bike won't start. The mechanic said, the coil got wet. They dried it out, started the bike, but the check engine went on. The bike runs with no issue, it is the light that pisses off.
Checked with protune. It is showing the front O2 sensor. The idle is high as well. I had a problem with O2 sensors before. The bike used to misfire and stall. After cleaning everything was OK. Now again. Is there any replacement or I have to buy from Big Dog?
A month before a voltage regulator died. Are they really so unreliable that you have to ride only around the mechanic's house?

2018? I have 2 BigDog choppers and have never ever washed them. Water & electrical system don’t go together well. At least on these bikes. I wipe mine down with a wet cloth and that’s it. No spray hose needed. Wipe it down /shine it up.IMG_9710.jpeg

The only damp rag I've used on my 02 pit is the towel I wipe it off with after using the pressure washer to blow the dirt off. Never had the first problem with it !

As Mike stated, you never want to wash any bike with water. What you didn't blow off sets the patina called rust. That sets in at the screw heads, other hardware. But if you spray WD40 on every last shit stain on there, slow me the rust if not at all said patina to the can-O-shit works much better.

Do you know where your toothbrush is?

I must be the odd duck. I take the Pitbull and the Chopper to the car wash. I sometimes ride thru the automatic wash but mostly use the powerwasher. If ya take the time n waterproof em, Dogs dont hate water. JMO.

Great collection. I love the chopper, it just needs some attention)) I checked the resistance on both injectors. It shows 12.3 OM, which should be normal. Leak test showed nothing as well. I have ordered new O2 sensors. I will also check the fuel pressure, though I am not sure how to do it on this bike, Harley has a special connector.
