Cam chest overfilled with oil

Good morning everyone, been a while. I worked up the courage to install the 585 cam on my 06 Big Dog Mastiff 117. Everything went smoothly, but, I found myself filling the cam chest with a quart of 20-50 oil. I did this thru the lifters. Will I have a problem or will it flow thru the oiling system. Thank you all in advance

You did what? Oil goes in the oil tank. There isn't more than a few table spoons worth of oil in the engine.

Should still drain to the crankcase I would think.

I would think it would just pump through, but then you would have too much oil in tank. Maybe siphon a half quart or so out of the tank before you start it. Then check oil level after running for a minute.

Bet its gonna be like any sumping kinda issue, put a drain pan under the bike before you start it. You will be way happier.

I'd leave it set for 2-3 days and then check how much extra oil shows in the tank as the oil and remove any excess and start from there.

It all turned out good. I went ahead and did an overhaul, cammed it and the oil did go back into the tank. She's a beast
