FUEL SYSTEM PROBLEM, CARB. SPUTTERS AT HIGHWAY CRUISING SPEED. NEW STAGE 1 INTAKE. V&H EXHAUST. REJET OR OTHER PROBLEM?

1. Looks like a 'lean is mean' plug. You have to ass yourself, ass? Do I still feel the sputter at the first post of 'runs like raped ass monkey,' but when walks it sputters, etc. So are we cleared of all driveability problems as stated in post 1?

2. You need a plug reader that can read all the way down to the porcelain end, not the nose. So the shot is moot.

3. Is the engine putting out too much heat with all the test rides? No. Then it's not that lean to cook the engine hotter.
It runs the same to me, it's a 117 so it would have to be screwed up pretty bad somewhere to slow it down, but the sputter is mostly gone, the decel popping has increased. I don't know how far guys tune away from stock s&s specs but I'm still close to stock settings, went up to a .032 intermediate. Don't have a way of knowing how hot it is. I'm stuck waiting on Mr Wright's paint saver remover because of gas dribbling across the tank from a split rubber seal. When I get the paint saver off and the new one in (Donna said they were out of stock though, might have to re-use the old one with a home made gasket) I'll take her for a spin and hopefully post the final "all's good".

I rejetted up from 031 to the 032 intermediate is that a big jump or do you know of 117's that have jetted up further? I'm lean, popping on decel, and would rather be running rich.

31 to 32 aint nothing. Keep playing till ya find ur sweet spot. Seen guys obsess over small stuff. Like Ive heard said....dont sweat the small stuff and 98% of problems are small. @ one point S&S posted on their site saying that if the carb is properly tuned decel pop is normal. Some dont like it but it gets idiots attention so they @ least look for the noise before they run over you.

Thanks guys. Let's wrap up this thread and toss it out! Went on an hour long ride (my insurance spy app said I was speeding 11 times, I hate those fucking things) and she rode like a dream! Ended up going up to a .078 main jet and way up to a .033 intermediate, stock Champion plugs, V&H Big Radius, a K&N in my teardrop, and the new rebuilt Super G carb bored out for more air intake.
Decelleration pop went WAY down to a normal badass sounding pop, sputter at highway speed GONE. Sending back the quiet baffle from V&H I don't need it! (unless one of you guys want it I'll sell it cheap to you $50 ($89 new) but let me know quick it's for the 2 into 1 Big Radius)
Turns out SHE JUST NEEDED MORE GAS!!!!!!!!!:chopper:
