Hello all, my name is Chris and I am in England. I apologise for this very long thread in advance! I have owned my K9 for 14 years and 2 years ago replaced the wire plus kit with a complete RIP Gen 1 kit and a new ignition module. The bike ran fine but I always had battery issues (ie not cranking fast enough). After speaking to friends in the USA who were running lithium batteries on their Dogs and Harley's, and had had no problems, I bought a Noco lithium battery and my dog spun over like a mother and started straight away! An hour later I went to start her in anticipation of a mega ride and she wouldn't start. She cranked over, I got a momentary flash of neutral, oil and hi beam lights for an instant then they went out. I had no lights on the ignition module. The horn, turn signals, brake lights, headlights all worked apart from I couldn't dip the main beam. After getting in touch with BDM they suggested I had probably fried the ECU as lithium batteries spike their voltage and Big Dog wiring doesn't like them (I must be the unlucky one!) So I purchased a new ECU which I've recently fitted and it's exactly the same. She cranks but no spark so there must be no power getting to the ignition module. Assuming this ECU is ok, there must be another issue. I'm looking into whether the momentary switch (a little grey plastic box with a bunch of wires coming out of either end) may be the culprit, but haven't been able to find one to buy in order to eliminate that. I've checked all the wiring for loose wires/breaks, the headlight bulb is good and now I'm losing the will to live. I have been reading through the forum and you seem like a friendly knowledgeable bunch of guys, so I am hoping someone may be able to throw some light on this! Thank you for any help you can give me.
