Weird spark problem...

Ok, ok!

Here's the explanation:

There was a yellow cable, coming from the harness, with +12v on it, but apparently it wasnt the RIGHT yellow cable...

For what I have been told, on 2004 bikes there is a separate harness going from the module connector directly to the coil, even though my original harness did'nt have that wire (might have been modified by the guy that imported the bike)

So basically I wired a cable from the module to the coil and bang, sparks...

What remains a mystery is the yellow cable coming from the new harness, and going thru the connector that went to the coil and the old key switch: where does it come from? where is it supposed to go? why is there +12v on it? Mystery...

Anyway, the bike runs, and that's all that counts for me at the moment...

PS: If anyone has a good tutorial on how to install a dynatek 2Ki on a 2004, I'm interested....

I did the conversion to the dynatek ignition, it was pretty easy and it works like a charm.

Thanks for the tip Gary!

Just before the conversion my original thunder heart module started to fail badly...

I'm quite happy there is no more BDM electronics in the bike!

BTW: Gary ,what setting are you using on your bike?

I started with curve 1, and it seems to work ok, but of course we have 98 octane gas over here... :)

I'm using curve 2 - 91 octane. Stock 107 except I opened up the front and back ends and fattened the jets a bit. Runs best here for me.

You'll really love the bike now. Rock on! :2thumbs:
