Loosen up the controls and see if you have enough end play. I'd use a really thin layer of grease or something that is thin. You can also manually open and close the carb to make sure it's not a throttle plate problem.

As Vegas said make sure it's not binding on the inside end of the grip where it meets the handlebar.

Also, use graphite lube not grease.

Another round please
If I didn't line up the 2 halves of the controls exactly when putting back together, it would happen to me also. Took me a few times but works great now.

We did all that. I used a thin smeer of mobil one grease on the bar end before sliding the grip back over. Its what I have always used.

If it matters remember he has efi. And has had a problem before with his cables not hooking properly to the throttle body.

House, we can take it apart again if you want. I'm on nights this week so call me up. I can spray lock graphite lube on the bar instead of grease and see if that lasts longer.

You can loosen up the cables again

Maybe back out the control set screw

Then the 2 bolts holding the halfs together...

check the farrels and re-assemble and tighten cables. See if that helps.

Is it sticking or just stiff? Or sticking like it was in the garage?

Just a thought...

If you have a cruise mate, make sure it is adjusted properly and / or not partially engaged...

Good Luck !

That sucks, House......It seems that Gas Man's suggestion to take apart and reassemble makes the most sense for the next step.....hope you're up and running soon...keep us posted.

Well problem is fixed

The matching grips that have been in the garage for over a year

The old ones which I was waiting for the rubber to wear out.

and what I think was the culprit (sp?) Took her for a ride and all seemed good:2thumbs: Thanks again for the input.

Glad to hear you're up and running House.....

Slight hijack......How do you like those roulette grips - I think they look great but wonder if they have enough rubber - your thoughts??

Spoke to House yesterday... he said the platic sleeve in the stock grip went to shit. I think that was the problem in the first place and our clean up/regrease just covered it up.

At least you match now!
