How to replace headlight

I am trying to replace the headlight on my 2002 boxer....having trouble getting to the bulb...can anyone help?

Did you remove the set screws? Soak it with some WD-40 or similar. Then use some rubber gloves. Replace it with anti-siege in the threads. Lots of bug juice in there!!!

yes removed set screws soaked with w-d overnight will try the ruber gloves thanks!!

I CLEAN MY OUTER RINGS WITH ALCHOL,THEN PUT 2 STRANDS OF DOUBLE SIDED TAPE ON THE OUTER RING,AND TURN IT AND MINE CAME OFF,I GOT THE DOUBLE SIDED TAPE IDEA FROM SOMEONE ELSE ON THIS BOARD

The previous owner jacked the headlight up and curious how much the headlight assembly is?

Your going to have to work at it. Lots of bug juice dried up in there. Could be the previous owner cross threaded it.
Make sure you removed the set screws in the bottom. There is two one for the beauty ring and the other is for the inner mounting ring.
Keep working at it and you'll get it.

Then trace the wire back to the main harness between or under the seat. You may likely have a grounded wire. :2thumbs:
