.... hi there , This 07 with V&Hines pipes is a beautifull bike and it's all great till u hit 65 , 70 mph - at 80+ u're feet fly off the pegs due to vibrations :rant: - Motor vibrations - if I press the clutch they dissapear ... tks Michael - feedback would be greatly apreciatted

I like to rest my heels on the pegs with a good rubber boot. Your going to get alot of vibration regardless. Need to make sure your motor mounts are tight and your engine is in tune.

make sure the top motor mounts are tight and if you don't know what I am saying do a search on it

Check your Top Motor Mount, the torque for the top mount to the frame should be 80 ft lbs, the coil cover mounting bolts 35 ft lbs. I would also check the front and rear of motor mounts as well as the 4 bolts under the tranny. The torque for the front and rear of motor mounts is 35 ft lbs and tranny 40 ft lbs. Those are the torque specs for on my 2006 Mastiff. Should be the same on yours too.

I can't help but ask why a Big Dog has to vibrate so bad. I understand Dogs shake. But, I have to tell you my 1968 BSA Chopper vibration is equivalent to new Dog vibration. There is no reason to vibrate this bad after 40 years of progress. I rode two new Big Dogs and they were so bad that the mirror almost fell off on one and the speedometer broke on the other. Not to mention the mirrors were useless on both bikes for seeing behind you. If they didn't vibrate so much, I would be in the market for one right now. But, I can build one that doesn't vibrate like these. It is not acceptable to me to have to put up with the idea that this is a dog and it shakes!

eyeseem....how are you??i asked the same question as my first question on this site...come to find out my motor mount had an billet aluminum acorn "show" nut on it that really wasnt that tight, replaced it with a real nut,got that tightened,my primary chain tightened,and it lessened the vibration,but it didnt go away 100%,i keep stock pegs cause of the rubber on them,and basically if i wanted to ride all over the place at above 80 speeds well maybe i should look into a more comfortable bike,so for the most part i just think its the nature of the beast......as i was told.........you will get used to it
as for nukeranger...well thanks for your interest in TEST RIDING a BIG DOG MOTORCYCLE sorry you werent pleased with the bike,please submit the picture of you vibrationless ,garage built chopper for us all to see.....

Ah, just another thought to your vibration. Have you changed your pipes recently? If it is an adjustable Mount at the rear,havig it too far up the bracket will cause excess vibration. It did it to mine on a different set of pipes but never the less check it out......

i have xoprodox pegs on my bike,my feet slid all over the place.i got some track shoe spikes at the local sports store and mounted them on the pegs.they work great and match the spiked pegs and grips.just alittle something that helps.besides vibration at stop signs looks cool right?

Whatever floats your boat, maybe you should get a Honda add a recliner for comfort and BF truck mirror so you can see whats behind you. :roll: :roll:

Hey Nukeranger, AND ALL

That's my biggest complaint about these bikes. The feet vibration and the uslessness of the mirrors...It's brutal....But as they say it is the nature of the beast...I had a 06 Harley Softail Heritage and that made my teeth chatter at 70+ mph....So it is what it is....you do kind of get used to it after a lot of time in the saddle....in fact I got on my wifes low rider the other day and I missed the vibration of the big dog..lol....go figure....But If they made the K9 and there other bikes rubber mounted IT WOULD BE AWESOME, IT WOULD BE THE ULTIMATE BIKE...and I don't like the new BDM bagger....it's ugly....Harley has them beat all over on the bagger seen...but yes do all the stuff these guys have been saying, tighten all mountiing bolts....

Anyway, I still favor my Road glide over the Dog....lol...just my opinion...

Personally, I don't have any issues with anything vibrating too much, pegs nor mirrors. And I think that as far as the entire bike vibration or shaking thing goes, rubber mounted engines seem to shake more to me and many of my Harley buddies agree, when we've compared them.
I think you've got something wrong if it's that bad!

That's just my thoughts here.
