Does anyone on this forum own one of these critters yet, or have you seen one on the road other than at BDM demo rides? It would be nice to get some actual road:whoop: feedback on this new bagger model.

I'm toying with the idea of getting one next year, but I'd want feedback from someone who's got some miles on it first before I'd plop down that kind of cash! I haven't seen any ride reports yet in any of the major bike magazines either! What's up with that?

Raywood, why don't you pull the trigger, get one of these and report back to us after you've got 25-30,000 miles on it (ie- just a couple months riding for you!)? :2thumbs:

well here is my thoughts. i own a 05 ridgeback and wanted a 2nd bike WITH suspension. i knew big dog was coming out with a bagger, and thats what i wanted was a bagger. so things i wanted was, a custom, big motor, great paint, good warranty, reliability, and chrome, not polished aluminum, and other things as well.

after seeing big dogs, i didnt really care for the fairing and how low it was
the electrical (ehc) is still there. i didnt want a 250 tire on a bagger. there is polished aluminum on the bulldog. and there price is 40k without paint, chrome package.

i ended up buying a fatbagger instead. i think you get alot more bike for your money and a front fairing that is much more usefull with lots of gauges even a gear selector position!

dont get me wrong i LOVE my ridgeback , but for me this was my choice

here are some pics

Ok, I cannot confirm nor denie but I hear the Bagger is a real pleasure to ride. It's so smooth and the motor is "surprisingly" strong. I mean stronger than my 117 as it's a 111 cu in "square" motor. The floorboards are nice but would take a while to get used to them. I might put a pair on my Chopper now! Fairing is nice. Stereo is the shit but doesn't do anything for you while flying down the freeway with all the wind noise so will have to stick with my in-ear buds. But you could plug them into the stereo. I think I would rather have a navigation system up there. Around town it's great though. Those speakers really rock. The seat has a backrest and that was so comfortable. Miss the fatter tire up front on my Chopper, I'm going to replace it as the wider one rides so much better.

Transmission was soooooooo smoooothhhh. Wish mine was like that. Handled surprisingly well.

I rode the Wolf also but I didn't like it. Bars felt odd in that they are so long and really come back a long ways. This is one long bike. The motor was very noisy I thought. The transmission was as smooth as the bagger though.

Wade (knotso) and I had the privilege to ride both and here are some pics.
I love the bagger. Knotso loved the Wolf. So each to his own as they say.

The new speedo is great and I hope to be getting one soon to test out as they will be retrofitted to older models.

Both of these bikes feel like they have more power and yet, the Bagger with the 111 is like a sports car. More useable power everywhere, trans is very smooth, lite clutch, very comfortable, this is a bike for around town or those long, long rides.

The speedo/tach issue is not a concern to me as I am old school and only look at the odometer to tell me when to get fuel, the tach and speedo - who needs that shit anyhow? No, really, do you really need that tech crap to ride?

I feel that BDM listened to all our gripes and worked to make this the bike WE created. Absolute fun bike to ride, hell yeah! :2thumbs:

I'm interested in the new Bagger and like what you and Raywood have posted...thanks! I'm anxious to read some test reports in bike mags too!

Sounds like you two are pretty sold on it, which is good enough for me!

I can't wait to see one in person and (hopefully) test ride one. For $40K give or take, it better be 100% set-up, ready to show & roll without changing anything (except maybe the exhaust because of  EPA regs).

FYI, here's a Bagger owner's review from Big Dog's Facebook -

"Hit 1000 mile mark on 2010 BullDog. Stereo survived 2 1/2 inches rain in 1 1/2 hrs, water up to floorboards! Survival riding! Flawless performance from bike so far. Saddlebags kept unlocking, bolts vibrated loose. Loctite cured problem. Not a darn thing to complain about, bike is show quality and ready to ride, short or long. See you in Carlisle, Pa. Thanks again, bagger is welcome edition to Big Dog lineup."

I'm gonna be in the market for a bagger in the future, I love the looks of the Dog but I cant see $40,000 for plain paint and no chrome, I want a custom but your going to tell me it cost $10,000 to add a fairing and some bags. Now dont get me wrong I Love my K9 and BDM but I think this bike is a little out of reality pricing.

I agree...$40K + should include a complete chrome package (incl. wheels) and at least a Level 7 paint job. I see Harley Roadglides, Streetglides and even Ultra-Classics for $20-25K...hard to ignore that $15-20 diff in this economy! Quite a premium tp pay for the "cool" factor!

I tried to point out what K9ann is saying. With all that money I think you could have just as much cool and far stretch ahead in reliability and aftermarket parts.

RC... but that damn thing is UGLIER than hell!

I don't know. It is growing on me. Not the regular one. The Ness version. The paint covers up the alien head thing pretty well and it does stand out for a whole lot less than the BDM bagger.

And from what I can tell they seem to have the bugs worked out on them.

I think they are making 300 of them so it would be pretty unique.

I am just so sick of mine I am looking for something different.

I like the paint and the idea of being 'unique' with only 300 made (I too am a big fan of ltd. ed. bikes!). And I like the looks of it better than a Goldwing or BMW. BUT...I'd still buy a Harley if I was in the market for a "Luggage-glide" right now...parts, service, dealer locations - all key factors when you're touring long distances away from home. :)
