Thunder Monster baffles

Has anyone been using the Big City Thunder, "Thunder Monster baffles"? I have Vance and Hines Big Radius and was thinking about trying them. Big City says they'll add another 12hp. Anyway, just wondering if anyone has been using them -- and what they think. Thanx Bunch.

i've had them in for about 2 mo now, same pipes as yours, a little bit louder than v&h baffles. a minor improvement in tone, no notice in hp increase. they should cost about 1/2 as much as they do, but other than that i pretty much like em! sorry not much help.

think about it. decking the heads, increasing the compression, changing the cam and valve springs, increasing the size of the valves, changing out the ignition system, etc, etc, will get you maybe another 20 hp. costing you 3-4k. big city thunder says they are going to give you another 12 hp just by using their baffle.???????????????????????????????

been running their baffles on a set of straights for about a year now....changed to many other things to tell if the baffles had any effect on the HP. Pretty simple baffle and I needed something up those pipes.

I was hoping to help get rid of my backfiring too -- another reason I was looking at the different muffler. thoughts about that?

you're still gonna get some decel pop and backfire but they do sound good. i had big radius and ran them with no baffles,they were loud and i liked it. i now have chaos II with thunder baffles, i just wish they were a little louder but everyone has different taste.as far as power increase i really didn't notice any but i'm sure there probably was a little bit. loud pipes save lives!

I been wanting to get a pair of these. Anybody know what size I would need to order for the supertrapp mean mothers. I'm not near my bike to measure the pipes. Thanks

Your outside diameter on the mean mothers is 2 1/2" and the inside diameter is 2 1/8". You have to order them for the inside diameter.

I had them on V&H big shots.....save your money. Just cut down your existing baffles. It ACTUALLY robbed some hp and tq from mine from my dyno run ..... not very much but it still did.....sounded cool though but no better then cut down baffles....my 2 cents

im not running any baffles right now so i dont have any to cut down and i heard they sound pretty good. thought i'd just give them a try :2thumbs:

Been running them for 3 months now and I second what Beast30 said. Robbed some Hp's for sure...

I have Vance and Hines pipes also, I took out my baffles and cut in half, made them a little louder and stop most of the popping on decel., as other have already said do not think they are going to help much with increase hp.

running V&H 2-into-2, no baffles and liked the sound but lost low end torque. Installed Monster Baffles, low end torque is back, decel pop very minimal, but I missed the sound of no baffles. Pulled them back out! This weekend put them back in and they will probably stay for now or until I do some addition mods (Triple X Carb, cam) and then dyno. I did cut down the BR Baffles but have never tried them.
