Vulcanworks Dual Coil....need help.

Hello All,

I just got the dual coil set up from Vulcan...same as Gas Man and Josh T.

My Dad is trying to install it for me in the USA and needs some help with the correct wiring...

I have not seen the unit so my knowledge of what he needs is limited. Does anyone who has this set up have a minute to sketch us a wiring diagram or describe it to us please?

Coils are due back from paint today and would be great to be able to install...

Thanks a million and Happy Holidays to you all.

It's on here somewhere. I think Alhall did one up for everyone. Now if we could just find it!

:D

Thanks Ray,

I looked and looked and found a schematic but my Pop says it does not appear to be applicable to this setup....I will wait for the guys to read this and see what comes up.

I think he needs help with the correct coil wiring and the new switch wiring...the shcematic I found has the coil wiring only I think..

Thanks again to you all,

Shane

You can wire the ignition to the existing ones (orange and black). If you have a 3 wire switch then you just double up the acc. side. The coil diagram that was posted is correct, just use the same coil wire that went to the front cylinder on your old setup the front coil on the new set up. I know the wires on the big dog ignition are much smaller but you can solder them like I did. I ran mine like this for a couple years with no issues before going to the wire plus.

Thanks for reposting the picture.

I stayed with the stock ign switch and the diagram made the rewire very simple.

remember, yellow is front cyl and red is the power from the ignition switch. All I had to make was the additional red jumper from 1 coil to the other.

Fired right up and sounded fine.

Thanks to all that responded.
