tac / rpm lights flash ?

2005 chopper the rpm lights get brighter / or weaker at times. Anyone ever had this problem? has been ongoing since day one. shop couldnt fix it.

I would say they are getting dimmer and they should be brighter all the time. Its just the rpm green lights.

Clay, the speedo housing has a sensor on it that just like your newer vehicle allows the lights to get brighter in the daylight and dimmer at night. See the little hole about 9 oclock on your speedo housing. Put your finger on it while outside and see how the lights dim. Mine is pretty sensitive so when I'm going down the road and hit shade it dims.

Mine has done the same thing. I had a stator go out and thought the reason they dimmed was due to that, but after replacing it, they still flash bright/dim when riding.

Like Ray said, My bike and I both are quite sensitive. :roll:

I will check out the sensor , good too know nothing major, just always caused me to be curious

Mine does the same thing. I was wondering about it too. I'll check that censor out as well and make sure it's clean.

Now just so you'll all know, at night you can see variations in your speedo's backlight and in your Tachs LEDs due to the variations in your charging system regulater switching between charging and "not" charging too! This is also normal for BDMs. :2thumbs:

Ahhh..well that could be what's up with mine. It even vibrates me eye balls, lol. I can see why a "lady passenger" would like this ride, haha.

Ray nailed it...the sensor allows the lights to get brighter in the sun and dimmer at night.

Yes was my issue too. Very sensitive
