Rear Brake Master Cylinder - 05 Ridgeback

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to buy just the master cylinder for the right side forward control assembly? I looked on the BDM parts website and they sell the fwd controls but it comes with both left and right sides along with the master cylinder (I think).

Your foot control is the master cylinder, they are not seperate.
Just get a re-build kit for it. It's cheap and easy to change.

Believe it or not - my bike fell over on its right side. Long story... It seems like the brake peg took the brunt of the fall. The force bent the attachment point of the fwd control (the master cylinder) to the point where it distorted the reservoir (and cap) and began to leak. I'm surprised the brake lever did not bend. I would have preferred the brake lever to bend and not the master cylinder. Yep - lost both right side turn signals and my pipes are all scraped up. Needless to say that I am looking for a few new parts to replaced some very damaged ones. The silver lining is that I was planning on either chroming or swapping out my fwd controls anyway so now I have the best excuse of all..

I took pictures of the MC. As soon as they are approved, I will post.

I took apart the forward control assembly (removed pegs and levers). My MC is bent so I dont think a rebuild kit is gonna do it.

In the picture below, you can see the bend at the top of the MC where the lever and the foot peg bolts on. It's curving left a bit.

I just added your photo's for you. Keep an eye on Shovelhead on eBay. He has been selling controls lately.

On your fitst post I thought you sounded like you thought your master cylinder was seperate from the controls. Sorry bout that.

Before you go buy another BDM forwards set, check ebay for forwards, you can get them pretty cheap and alot of slick stuff. I never liked the BD forwards, think they are a little too chunky lookin.

Tony, if it makes you feel better........ I laid my bike over in gravel at the Testicle Festival last year on the way to Sturgis. Broke of the peg and severely bent the ship peg as well as my license plate frame. Don't ask me what I was doing.
Had to ride the remaining distance to Sturgis (600 miles) without a peg and shifter.
Dakotobos helped me patch it up in Sturgis to get me back home. It was a mess to fix later!!! :D

Man that just sucks. When mine dropped, I was only 10 miles from my home. All in all, it could have been much worse. Now I have to dip into my paint job fund to repair the functional items to get the dog running again... Ed's gonna be pissed! I was in his line for him to do the paint job in April some time.

A new paint job doesnt mean much if the bike is sitting on the lift!
