No tappet screen

Got some parts from Vicki so started swapping out today. Started with the tappet screen. It was fun getting the old slotted bolt out, had to get creative.

Got it out!

The slotted bolt & the new one from Vicki

Went to remove the tappet screen and there isnt one! Looked done there with a flashlight everything, I could not see a screen only the spring.

Anyone got any ideas? '06 k-9, spring looks way longer then the one on Gas Man's service post. Think the screen might be way the hell down in there? It's possible the dealer forgot to replace it! :angry:

Yo...Rick......your tappet screen should be one more over.......try removing the bolt next to the slotted one.....right above the cam cover.......look in Gas Man's how to service your Big Dog...in the how to.....I noticed you removed the wrong one......its right next to the one you removed......try that....

Yep, you removed a plug on the oil pump. The tappet is in the cam case and already has that nice new plug.

And to think I printed out Gas' how to and still fucked it up! Maybe a little to much juice from the BDM keg-o-rater during the process today huh!

I just went out and removed "The Correct" bolt. Found a dirty tappet screen! Thanks fellas!

pikes peak would be a good ride, not sure how the dog would ride at the top or if i would even want to try it., lol. mountian biked down it thought, that was wild. 70 mph on a bicycle, thats a good time.
