Get this... the plastic cover that wraps around the battery under the seat just decides to crack in half and fall off... wtf?

I just checked the BDM website and no replacements listed for this particular part... any idea how/where I can find a new one??

Any suggestions... Much appreciated.

Couple years back the factory was having the dealers put new pins in that hold the cover on and that prevents cracking. Get your done?

You would probably be better off taking it to a body guy and having them repair it with fiberglass and repaint it and then make sure the recall brackets are in place before reinstalling. My 06 K9 had the problem initially and they had to replace the covers and install the brackets.

Same here, on my 06 K9! But it was still under warrenty, recall item. They sent them back to Kansas and made a new one and had it painted to match up perfect to the left side cover. Just make sure not to over torque once you find a replacment, good luck!

there is a recall on the rigids side covers. Mine are at the Dealer being done now. They cut the mounting tabs completely off the side covers, then they epoxy the side coversw to a composite body, then the composite body bolts the the frame relieving all stress and vibration from side covers. Good news is there is a recall and the dealer should have no trouble getting you new covers, bad news is it may take a couple months to get a painted/matching set sent to the dealer. Atleast thats what RnB Cycles told me, thats why I had them do the recall before the broke. Oh, when they epoxy them, they then clamp them into a jig and they have to set 24hrs. So its an over night jobber. Hope this helps, Joe.
