High Beam Light

Cut the wires on my dog and put a new plug on it. The lo and high beam works but the blue high beam light stays on. Unhooked the battery and give it a few minutes and hooked it back up and high beam light stays on even the low beam is shining. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the input!

Fired right up! And before wired it back together I checked the high beam and it came on and hit low beam as well. I don't know what the hell it is!

The 1st statement is correct and the pigtails were bigger but I'm not sure what size. I'm not a very good mechanic or technician thats why I cut the wires and took the easy way out. I didn't want to tackle that taking the tank off and stuff because I didn't want to mess anything else up. As far as I know, the original EHC is still installed. I bought the bike at the end of April from a man that said all he ever done to it was change the oils (regular maintenance) and drove it.

Before I put it all back together though I hit the high beam and it came on and I hit the low beam to make sure it came on. I thought that would indicate that I had it wired correctly. If this is the case do you think it might be the ground or do you still think I might have the low and high beam wires crossed? Thank you for your input!

Without seeing it for myself it's hard for me to say which one is the issue.

But I'd start by comparing the wire colors with the proper plug locations as indicated in the previous pic.!

If the locations are correct and it's still illuminating both the high and the low beams simultaneously, plus the high beam (Blue LED) indicator, then I start by checking for good ground continuity on the ground wire of the headlight (Black Wire) back to the battery ground. :2thumbs:

Hope this Helps! :2thumbs:

dead

i have a 05 mastiff and my bike did the same thing right after i replaced my battery due to old age and a very big drop in voltage when i did a load test on my battery. While i was riding my bike to the shop to get the high beam problem diagnosed it actually corrected itself and has been working correctly ever since. I told the shop of the problem i was having with the head light and how it corrected itself and the explained to me that the EHC had to internally reset itself and run through a complete cycle.i don't know if the is a correct fact i was told but hey everything seems ok now so what else can i do but to believe him good luck with resolving your issue.
