Have the fuel injectors been checked for proper operation? With the gas we have now days they do get gummed up. After all, too much air could also mean not enough gas...The reason I said its not firing correctly is because the mech said he felt the he could touch the front pipe when the rear was hot. It runs like shit from start up. And the air cleaner is stock and VH big radius 2/2 with a new o2 in the front pipe. The past codes were to much air(front cyl) because of the bad intake gasket. but now no codes.

problem is there at start up so not nec heat related.New plugs and switched the wires from front to rear problem stayed with the front cyl, coil checks out as fine.Intermittant and heat related? Not reading any codes?
I'd be inclined to think along the lines of a plug breaking down, plug wire breaking down(sometimes you can see this one in the dark) or maybe the coil.
