Well your ignition cover? You mean your cam cover? Cause your ignition is under your seat.
That's great. Before you pull your tank. Open your gas cap and check the little metal overfill tube in the cap neck. That has a weld and comes loose allot on these bikes. If that's it. You have a few options.
call BDM and see if they will help to get it welded back.
JBWeld it in place so it don't rattle
cut it off below the filler neck
Realize that it doesn't go anywhere on our bikes (Cali bike maybe). The plug under the tank is the other end of that tube. Hence it goes no where.
You could always rebuild your motor like Ray!
