brake light always on could this be the problem??

Energy One
I am having some problems with my brake lights staying on all the time. I checked through the wiring and found the wires on the rear brake sensor disconnected (cut) would this cause the lights to stay on? and the bike to stall? just wanted to make sure the problem is both related to the brake sensor wires. I am going to contact a dealer to see about getting a new brake sensor wire.

not sure it would cause a stall ... maybe if thay were grounding aginst something... & if thay were touching each other could cause the light to stay on..

They are not touching. I connected them back together and used heat shrink until I get a new wire. I wonder if the sensor is shot? the red plastic connector.

if you disconnect it all together & isolate the wires from touching or grounding to anything.. it shouldnt stall.. the light wont work. but it shouldnt cause any running issues..brake line pressure causes the switch to close & turn the light on..

Do you mean the switch in the right hand control? It was just replaced with a new board due to the "Mechanic" who decided to try and cut the wires to fix the brake light issue. I think he may have cut the wires on the rear brake sensor as well but just found that after looking through the wiring. I have tried everything I can think of checked wires under the fender, went through the wiring harness, under the seat/tank. I will keep working the issue and going to order a new wire. Thanks again if its not one thing its another.

I am going to call richard at precision bikeworks in Erie PA I spoke with him awhile ago and he was having a similar issue with his.
