Hey Byrddogg, I think you will like the look on your bike as well. I test rode a K-9 with the same springer suspension, and it rode awesome. My bike rides a little smoother now.Fucken Awesome
Have been thinking of putting a Dragon on my K-9 too. Seeing your and it looking so badass just makes me think "Winter Project". So you say it rides good. I'm on vaction this wk, I might ride to ST.L to check it out.
Hey Staffy, not sure what the trees model name is, they were what came with it. Didn't get any of the other options available for it. Also got the standard rake, seems to work better, and keep the same setup as our stock bikes. Didn't want to screw with any handling issues by getting the increased rake.WOW - looks GREAT....:2thumbs::2thumbs:
Pictures look like you have the "DECAPTATOR" trees - is that correct?
If so, I am glad and reassured - I was always curious as to how the bike would handle when using the Decapator trees. When calculating the rake n trail - the results were real close to acceptable.
Your bike looks killer... my personal preference is for a springer w/o a fender though. If it rains, I just tie a bandana across the tubes. Thanks Slider I appreciate it. As for the fender, do you mean you don't like it with the front fender?
Thanks for the feedback - could you please post a closeup picture of the trrees - TOP VIEW. Would like to see the handle bars in relationship to the down tubes - if thee is an off set they are the Decapitator, if not its the Batwing. Thanks a ton.Hey Staffy, not sure what the trees model name is, they were what came with it. Didn't get any of the other options available for it. Sure Staffy, I will get some pics of what you want to see, and post them up.Thanks for the feedback - could you please post a closeup picture of the trrees - TOP VIEW. Thanks Five Five, greatly appreciate it, and would appreciate the vote as well, posted a pic on the POTM a little bit ago.Reaper...that is a show winner....make sure and submit your scoot for POTM...you got my vote...:2thumbs:
You will love it, will change the look of your bike. Looking forward to pics of your bike with the springer.lookin to do the same , sweeeet :2thumbs: hope to have done before biketoberfest
Now I see what you are saying Slider, never thought of that. I did think about not putting the front fender back on, but it has flames on it, and the flames kind flow over the entire bike. Just didn't want to break up the flame effect. But I will for sure keep an eye on it, thank you for the heads up.:up:Your bike looks killer... my personal preference is for a springer w/o a fender though. It would be catastrophic though should that fender get tangled up. Haven't heard that of that problem with Am. Suspension. I'm not telling you anything you don't know, but I'd keep a watch on that puppy.
If you are like me, I try to check the fasteners but I gotta be honest, it's hard to do all the time, sometimes you just hop on and go. I got burned that way, no personal injury.... just shit way too loose for comfort.
Now go ride! :2thumbs:
 Yeah Lee, I'm really slacking when it comes to keeping it clean.massive cool Reaper
I'm glad you kept the rake the same - the only way to change the rake (to do it properly anyway) is to cut the neck off and re weld the rake into it.
As for the front fender, I have to say I prefer it without but with the dark colour of your fender and sitting so close to the tyre I don't think it will make a huge difference either way. If you've never ridden in the rain without a front fender I can tell you now its not pleasant! Bandana idea could be good though.
Great looking bike - I just wish you'd make more of an effort in keeping it clean!!
Thanks a ton - those are in fact DECAPITATOR trip trees and I'm glad to know you experience excellent handling. This was a HUGE concern with me when I got my setup, with all the info out there it was a huge risk and gamble (re: trail and handling) – ended up going with the Decapitator – (this is for my Mastiff, am also installing a 360 brake on the springer. Have chosen not to use the front fender; yes I know good luck with the cleaning…Should be on the road in a few and I do hope I get the same handling results as you)Here you go Staffy, hopefully these pics will help you.
