2006 K9 Won't Start

My 2006 K9 just thumps real loud when I try to start it and I keep it on a battery charger so I don't think it is the battery ... I guess maybe the starter is out since the engine won't turn over ? ? ? Sorry I am a rookie so I don't know a ton about my bike yet, but I know I have read lots of posts about starters going out ... Thanks !

When in doubt? Take the battery and have it load tested first thing! :2thumbs:

Do like Dead said and check your battery. Then when that doesn't work, it's probably your starter. :bang:

Something else to check would be your compression releases. Also, make sure you don't give it any gas/throttle when you attempt to turn it over.
