Coyote Handle Bar

Need some help n info PLEASE. I would like to relocate my speedo (seat it higher) on my 08 Mastiff. I notice the COYOTE has a different mount for the speedo which rests on the handle bars (I think).
• I am hoping someone with access to a Coyote can post dome pic’s of the Speedo/handlebar (from all angles please).
• If anyone has a schematic and/or part #’s for the setup that would be greatly appreciated
• Finally can anyone help me with the dimensions (pull back and riser) on both Coyote and Mastiff, wondering how much of a difference.

Thanks in advance

09 Coyote:

So the handle bars on a Coyote has a cross brace welded in which serves as the speedo bucket mount. This cross brace is welded in about 7" above the trees putting the top of the speedo bucket at about 10" above the top of the trees.
Stand by for pics.........

Yeah, I want one for my bike to raise the speedo off the tank plus I think it looks better up (not to high) between the bars kind of like a gun sight.

But BDM told me they are $450!!!

THANKS A TON JIM - Just what I needed - THANK YOU AGAIN....

Looks like it will work....but as Ray pointed out - $450 makes me do some serious thinking.

It does look great and is a "bolt on" from some aspects - I imagine one would need new speedo electrical cables (night train to the rescue -lol) - the existing ones may turn out to be too short and also not sure if the speedo bucket is "standard" as found in other (K9, Mastiff, etc) bikes - Jim do you now if it the bucket is the "same”.

Come on Ray, I’m sure one of your many contacts or one of you on the forum can fabricate a bolt on cross bar thereby eliminating the need to weld anything on – then drill two holes into the handlebar sides to route the speedo cables and all DONE!!! Group buy in order here – lol. Anyone with suggestions other than forking out the $ 450?

Your welcome, happy to help where I can.

So I happen to have a K9 and Coyote sitting here and I am unable to detect a difference in the speedo buckets. The 09 Coyote doesn't have the later 2010 model speedometers. The size, shape and bucket mounting holes appear to be identical. I didn't put a caliper on it, but my money says the buckets and mounting are the same. I wouldn't be surprised if the wiring connectors inside are the same as well, but I haven't confirmed that. The only difference that I am aware of between the two is that on the 09 Coyote, she does have the two trip odometers whereas my K9 only had the one (stock) prior to Dakota Digital, but of course that is a function of the Autometer speedo unit itself rather than what we are talking about.

The Coyote does have a taller rise in the bars of course which give it room for that welded in cross brace pictured.

Let me know if I can help further.
