BUBBA, you're only supposed to have 20 oz. in the tranny. that is your problem.

thinking a little deeper, the seal from the primary to the tranny could be bad. do a search, there have been a few in recent weeks with the same problem.

Called Baker this AM, seams wierd they never heard of this happening, Scott said he thought my clutch was lose allowing the seal to be loose.

ordered up new M/S seal and primary cover seal from them.

Guess ill be pulling primary cover and clutch, replace seal and go from there.

Found my problem i think , tranny bearings dont feel too good if you ask me and when you rotate it makes alittle noise, i have about 1/16 maybe in movement in the tranny shaft.

If you have any play at all then yes, the bearings are bad.
Also not, you might have the old style Main shaft, if so you should replace that along with all your bearings, clips, spacers, and seals. Otherwise the main shaft most likely will end up breaking on you.

so i need to read on tranny rebuilding, does tranny rebuilding require many specials?

Is it something a average mechanic can do , or better to have a tranny guy do it?

Must be the season for tranny rebuilts.....Both my tranny main shaft bearings and a buddy of mine went out with in 3 weeks of each other, had a local "old school" guy that is a baker dealer and he rebuilt mine for very reasonable, put it back in and all smiles now!

Good luck!

Andrew thanks for the offer to rebuild the Tranny. I found an old pro drag racer shop close. Doc's Racing in Tacoma. He really seamed to know the baker designs and acted like he knew a few people at Baker. Its still is odd that the primary fluid was going into the tranny, but with a bad bearing and seal. Seams most ive read go the other way as the tranny fluid sits higher then the primary.

Hopefully all works well :)

You can't go wrong with Andrew he knows these bikes. I sent him my tranny(rebuild replace shift forks and all seals and bearings) about 4-5 months ago and the tranny is still quite and he has a fair price and 18 mo. warranty. Can't beat that. He is easy to work with also. A+ in my book!!!!:whoop:

All rebuilt and back going again. Tranny rebuild cost 485.00 with the better bearings The guy could have been a little carefull with putting it in the press , it seems i have a few scuffs i dont remember before. Neutral works great and all seems to be good , put in amsoil and am riding again:)
