Have you installed the HID light?

Hey,
I got the HID light from Jake with my WP and can't get it to fit inside the housing. :bang: Has anyone else here had that problem? I have a custom light on my '05 Pitbull and attributed that to the reason. Then I tried to put it in my wife's '03 Mastiff / Stock headlight.....and the same thing. :spank: It's like beating a square peg into a round hole. It just don't fit!!! :job: The large powerpak that comes with it is tied together. Do you take this apart to get it to fit? Need some feedback here from someone that actually got it to work for them.

Another round please
Mine fit right in. Was tight if I recall but not a problem. Good luck. You will love the new light.

Did you have to separate the 2 parts of the power pak that are tied together? Once I set it inside the light housing, there in not enough room for the headlight to seat back into place. :bang:

Mine was a m*therfcker to get in! I thought the same thing about separating them but talked to Jake and he said dont do that. What I ended up having to do was take a straw and hold the pack over to the left side of the housing then put the headlight in, then sliding the straw out! It took two people but we got it in there. Best of luck, I cussed and messed with it for 45 min. It works great now and I hope I never have to take it back apart!!!!

Did a straw come with your kit? :loony: I did read on the "how to" where someone had to separate the two parts to get the lamp back in place. I'll try the straw trick first, then break them apart if that doesn't work. Thanks TLB:cheers:

i used two sided tape to hold it in the location that would let me get the housing back together... took like 15 minutes maybe... and most of that was trying to get it apart :bang:

No sadly it wasn't supplied , but my redneck ingenuity figured why not give it a shot, Well I started with a small piece of wire but to get is small enough it just bent way to easy. Happened to see a flex straw in my buddies garage and figured what the hell and it worked.

If you would like I can ship you a straw for the low price of only shipping and handling but wait if you act now I will throw in a second straw for FREE!! This great deal could be yours for two installments of only $9.95.

Its such a good deal you cant afford not to buy it!

Hope you get it in there one way or the other!

I seperated mine, but after taking it out over and over, the wire on the h-4 bright broke, had to order a new light as you cant reconnect it. So I ordered a blue and white also had to order a new ballast due to the original having a short from taking it in and out, But the replacements were as cheap as a regular H-4 bulb from the HD store. new ballast was only 27 shipped. And I ordered a new retaining ring; aluminum wears fast.:bang: It has been tough but now I have plenty of spare parts.

Post a pic of your "custom bucket"

If it is ANY smaller in length than the stock bucket, it will not fit.... you will need the hammer to get it in!

:hi: Ok I got mine in here's the dill.... Pickle. When I turn on the key the 4 ways flash and the HID headlight flashes or strobes. Seems like it flashes more when the bikes been off awhile. If you run awhile and shut it off and restart immediately no problem. Also you can turn the key on and quickly switch to high beam and it will start immediately. I love the look of the light and just did about 100 miles today on a poker run. Just a little annoyed with the waiting to quit flashing so I can start. I'm sure this can be worked out.:here: HELP JAKE:here:

Also throwing a 49441 code on the speedo.
