Got caught in the rain this weekend and had to use my horn from some car merging into my lane. The horn worked, then slowly got lower in sound and then nothing. Next day horn worked, but wasn't very loud and then stopped working again. Started the bike today and horn starting gowing off WITHOUT me touching the horn button and then slowly got lower till it stopped. Could this be a problem with the housing controls or with the horn harness itself. Everything else seems on the handle bar controls seems to work fine

probbly the rain... has it had time to dry completly? maybe water in the horn itself... water in the hand controls will cause it to start working by itself.. suggest dring out & waterproffing all connectors..

The hand controls can be tricky in heavy rain. I had a 05 got caught in a heavy downpour so I'm limpin down the road. Next thing the oil light comes on. Shut off the bike cycle the key start it and the oil light is still on. Had to get off the road and the bike sounded fine went about 100 yards hit the left signal button and the oil light went out. Got to the shop use air hose and blew what seemed like a shit pile of water out of the controls :loony:

When i wash the bike anything above the tank gets hand wash and rinse, no water hose toward the controls

I don't know about you but the first time I hit the horn I was like, what the hell, it's a fuckin VW horn. Never used it again.

Iman my bet is you won't have to mess with the horn. I think it's just your control as said by others...

Has anyone purchased an aftermarket horn that fits our bikes and sounds a little more agressive? The sound coming out of the stock horn just sucks.

One other thing to check. These dogs do vibrate a lot and the bracket holding the horn can come loose or even break. Without a solid mounting bracket, the horn may not work or only vibrate but with no sound. My bracket broke on my Pitbull and the horn wouldn't work until I re-mounted again.

It's an easy check. Just put a volt meter to your horn wires while pressing the button. If you have power but no sound, then that's most likely your problem. If no power, then track back to the hand controls like mentioned earlier.
