Well I did a complete service on the bike, took speed senor out of trans and cleaned it, now the speedometer does not work.:bang: When I turn the key on it does the sweep to 60 and the code shows in the mileage, but when I am riding it stays at 0, also the trip button will not work, it stays on the bike mileage. What I don't understand is that it worked fine before I did this, so don't know if there is a fault with the EHC or one of the wires came loose:confused:. So any info on this is greatly appreciated. Thanks

try disconnecting the battery and letting the system reset itself. just thinking
Ya I was thinking that I should have done that before disconecting the senor,:bang: I was also reading the service manual and thinking that I might have to recalibrate the speedo.

Make sure the battery is charged. I have noticed on mine, sometimes if the battery is not fully charged, the speedo does not work. I keep mine on a battery tender at all times and haven't had the problem since.

Mine does exactly what you're saying in that the speedo does the "sweep", but then the trip/odometer button and the speedo doesn't work. I let the bike warm up a bit, turn it off, then back on, then restart, and all is well.

Basically what happens is the voltage takes a dip when the bike is started, especially with a cold engine, and the dip in voltage causes the speedo to go nuts.

That all said though, it sure seems odd that this all started after you messed with your speed sensor. Perhaps just a conincidence?

So took the battey out for the day then hooked it back up and all is well. Speedo started working again, don't think it's a battery problem I keep it on a tender all the time.

man mine does the same kinda crap. I wanna get a dakota digital bad but I'm not positive that's the issue. I always have the batt on a tender...I wonder if its just got enough surface charge to start her up...battery is original (early 06)...maybe its time to throw a new one in (braille) that I know is legit THEN start chasing gremlins!!

Got to love when the dogs self heal. A month ago, same problem for 1 hole 1 day. Next day everything was fine and has been since. Did not do anything to the bike.

My Speedo is acting weirdas well. It works fine, hen when I get on the freeway to work it seems to be reading about 10 MPH faster then what I'm actually cruising at, when I come to a stop the needle drops, but won't go past 10. When I cycle the power on the bike, the speedo goes through the sweep and the needle resets itself to zero again. I pulled the sensor and wiped it off, however I still have this issue of getting the wrong reading. Any ideas?

I had the same problem on the 07 Mastiff I had. Two things took care of it. Frist I bought a Dakota Digital and then I bought a new Bulldog. Problem solved.

Bend your needle to the left 10mph.:roll::roll:
